In Observance of the Holiday, Concrete Kote will be closed on 25th and 31st December.
1. Why would I have to pay a professional if I can do it myself?

The most important part of any concrete surface application is surface preparation. A professionally installed epoxy floor by a certified installer will give you a high quality and beautiful floor which will last. We use top quality planetary and hand-held diamond grinding equipment with an environmentally safe vacuum system to collect hazardous concrete dust and contaminants. We also use only commercial/industrial grade epoxy products which are guaranteed and proven over thousands of square feet of concrete.

2. I have some small cracks and pits in my floor. What do you do with them?

Not to worry! We take care of every detail including repairing cracks and pop outs in your floor before applying the epoxy coating.

3. What kind of warranty do I get?

Our services for all residential applications include a two year limited warranty against peeling (delamination), staining, and any defects with the material itself. Since a house may experience shifting of the substrate below, cracks and other repairs due to it are not warranted.

4. How strong is the epoxy floor, could something cause damage to it?

Even though an epoxy floor is very strong and durable it can still be damaged mechanically or if the substrate, or concrete underneath, were to be damaged. For example, if a heavy object like a sledge hammer were to be dropped on it or if you were to drag a heavy table with steel legs across it. An epoxy floor can be scratched just like regular concrete can be scratched. An epoxy floor will be very durable and last for years looking beautiful with reasonable care.

5. What do I need to do ahead of your arrival?

We need to have the area cleared off the floor in order to start working. Also, it could be helpful if you can locate electrical panels and point out which outlets have a minimum of 20 amp circuits.

6. What are the benefits of choosing a flake color over a solid color?

One of the major advantages of the flake color system is its ability to hide minor imperfections in the concrete. Since each flake color pattern incorporates many colors, you can select the one that will go best or match your décor, siding and window colors.

7. How do I take care and clean my new epoxy floor?

For light cleaning just use a broom, dust mop, or leaf blower. For a deeper cleaning simply mix ammonia and water and apply with a mop. We advise to stay away from soaps because these leave a film, which become very slippery when wet.

8. I am worried about the mess that the repair work may cause around my house.

Our process consists of a dustless grinding system which leaves very little mess.

9. How much does it cost?

Price will vary depending on square footage, amount of crack and concrete repair, and if there is an existing coating to remove. Our average garage price is starting at $750 including all labor and materials..

10. What is the average time a typical installation takes?

Most installations can be completed within 1 to 3 days and it depends on the coating system of your choice.

11. After the installation, how long do I wait before walking or driving on the surface?

Depending on the time of year and temperature, you can normally walk on surface within 24 – 48 hours and drive on surface within 3 to 5 days.

12. Can this be used outdoors as well as indoors?

Yes; outdoor patios, sidewalks, breezeways, porches, and steps.

13. Is the floor slippery?

A flake system floor gives a texture feel to it and is normally no more slippery than regular concrete when wet. To avoid any concerns about slippage, we can add a slip resistant additive to the topcoats which will make the floor more skid resistant.
